abstract An image processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to obtain a value of an index related to a predetermined disease for each of a plurality of sites included in a brain of a patient, on the basis of a plurality of pieces of medical image data obtained by imaging the brain of the patient at each of a plurality of points in time. The processing circuitry is configured to analyze, for each of the plurality of sites, a relationship between changes in the value at the plurality of points in time and a progress model indicating changes in the index through progress of the predetermined disease. The processing circuitry is configured to output an analysis result obtained from the analysis for each of the plurality of sites.
