abstract An emitter arrangement contains at least one emitter and at least one vaporizer element spaced apart therefrom. At least one of the emitters contains at least one emission surface made of at least one first electron emission material and lies at a first potential. At least one of the vaporizer elements contains one evaporation surface made of at least one second electron emission material and lies at a second potential. Thus, the emitter arrangement has a compact configuration and a longer lifetime with simultaneously good emission properties.
