abstract | A nonaqueous electrolytic solution lithium ion battery comprises a positive electrode terminal, a negative electrode terminal and a battery case, and an electrode body is contained within the battery case. The electrode body comprises a positive electrode collector, an electrode plate for positive electrodes, a negative electrode collector and an electrode plate for negative electrodes. The electrode plate for positive electrodes and the electrode plate for negative electrodes are laminated with a separator being interposed therebetween. A CO and CO 2 adsorbent is disposed within the battery case of this lithium ion battery. A lithium ion battery according to the present invention is capable of reducing deformation of an airtight container accompanying increase of the internal pressure due to a gas component such as CO or CO 2 , which is generated within the battery at the time of abnormality or during a long period of use. |
