abstract One aspect of the present disclosure describes a method for burn wound assessment that identifies burn wound conversion. The method includes performing non-contact imaging on the burn wound with an imaging modality configured to record imaging data. The imaging modality includes active dynamic thermography (ADT). Based on the imaging data, an area of the burn wound undergoing conversion can be determined. The determination can be accomplished automatically by a system comprising a processor.
