titleOfInvention | Method of Producing An Aminocarboxylic Acid |
abstract | An aminocarboxylic acid is produced from a solution that includes an aminocarboxylate and a solvent. A method of producing the aminocarboxylic acid comprises the step of combining a sulfonic acid and the solution comprising the amino-arboxylate and the solvent to produce a composition. An example of the aminocarboxylate is a salt of methylglycine diacetic acid (MGDA). An example of the sulfonic acid is methane sulfonic acid (MSA). The composition comprises the aminocarboxylic acid. The method further comprises the step of isolating the aminocarboxylic acid from the composition. |
