abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for producing methacrolein from propionaldehyde and formalin. This novel process is notable in that the catalyst system used for this reaction is modified by the simultaneous presence of secondary and tertiary amines such that the synthesis can be carried out more efficiently and with less purification being required. |
