The present disclosure relates to a positive electrode active material including a lithium composite oxide represented by Formula 1, a method of preparing the positive electrode active material, and a lithium secondary battery including the positive electrode active material. n Li a Ni x Co y M 1-x-y-z Al z O 2 [Formula 1]n n wherein in Formula 1, M may be at least one metal selected from manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), chromium (Cr), iron (Fe), titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr), molybdenum (Mo), aluminum (Al), silicon (Si), and zinc (Zn), 1≦a≦1.3, x may be a number in a range of about 0.45 to about 0.6, y may be a number in a range of about 0.15 to about 0.3, and z may be a number in a range of about 0.003 to about 0.01. |
