abstract |
The invention provides an oral care product suitable for the remineralisation of teeth, the product comprising: (i) a first composition having a non-aqueous liquid continuous phase including a thickening agent, a humectant, and an agent for the remineralisation of teeth; the agent for the remineralisation of teeth being a mixture of a calcium source and a phosphate source which, when delivered to the teeth results in the in situ generation of hydroxyapatite on teeth; (ii) a second composition having an aqueous liquid continuous phase including a thickening agent and a humectant, the second composition comprising at least 30% by weight water (by weight based on the total weight of the second composition), and less than 2.5% by weight of phosphate source (by weight based on the total weight of the second composition); in which the second composition is stored separately from the first composition prior to usage of the product in a manner to avoid contact between the water in the second composition and the agent for the remineralisation of teeth in the first composition; and also in which the first and second compositions are adapted to be admixed and applied to the surface of the teeth for sustained contact. |
