titleOfInvention Oxygen sensor with electrochemical protection mode
abstract A process analytic instrument includes a measurement cell and an analyzer circuit. The measurement cell includes a solid state electrochemical oxygen sensor configured for exposure to a process gas. The analyzer circuit is coupled to the solid state electrochemical sensor to measure an electrical parameter of the solid state electrochemical sensor and provide an output indicative of oxygen in the process gas. A DC bias circuit is configured to selectably bias the solid state electrochemical oxygen sensor with a direct current when the solid state electrochemical sensor is in a reducing environment.
