abstract The present invention relates to novel pyrrolidine derivatives of formula (I): n n n n n n n n n n wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 and X are as defined in claim 1 , optionally in a zwitterionic form, in the form of a pure optical isomer, or in the form of a mixture of optical isomers in any proportions, or in a form enriched with an optical isomer, as well as their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates or hydrates, and pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds. These compounds are notably useful for treating, in particular in human beings, epilepsy, ischemia, neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease or Huntington's chorea, multiple sclerosis, Devic's disease, Alzheimer's disease, psychiatric diseases such as schizophrenia, depression, addiction, allodynia and hyperalgia.
