abstract | A method for diagnosing and/or evaluating dementia severity in a subject suspected of having or having dementia is provided the method comprising:n a) obtaining a test cell sample from the subject, b) assaying the test cell sample to determine a telomere organization signature of the test sample, the telomere organization signature comprising one or more parameters selected from: i) telomere aggregates; ii) telomere number; iii) telomere length and telomere number; iv) telomere aggregates, telomere length and telomere numbers; c) comparing the test cell sample telomere organization signature to a control or one or more predetermined reference signatures; and d) diagnosing whether the subject has dementia and/or the dementia severity according to the test sample telomere organization signature. |
