abstract Apparatuses and methods for detecting hidden or modified objects in a vehicle are disclosed. Embodiments include detection of vehicle irregularities, such as irregularities in the acoustical response of a vehicle tire as the tire rolls over a surface, irregularities in the orientation of the vehicle body, the response of a vehicle component (such as an axle, wheel, tire, etc.) to the vehicle moving over a surface, and the response of a vehicle component to vehicle generated vibrations. In alternate embodiments subsystems detecting different irregularities communicate with one another.
