abstract A system and method for delivery of one or more objects is provided. The system and method includes the steps of determining if the object can be delivered to a first location; and in the event that the object cannot be delivered to the first location, a unique identifier is generated. The unique identifier is associated with the object and a reservation request is initiated to deliver the object to a second location. Determination of the second location is based on one or more parameters and notification of successful reservation request and second location is provided. A modular storage system having an actuator is also provided.
