abstract A method for producing a long stretched film according to one aspect of the present invention includes at least a step of forming a long film, a step of obliquely stretching the long film and a step of winding the long stretched film. A winding direction of the long stretched film can be arbitrarily changed to a direction oblique to a delivering direction of the long film. In the oblique stretching step, grip release points of gripping tools gripping opposite end parts of the long stretched film are independently movable in the winding direction of the long stretched film and so adjusted that a grip release line connecting the grip release points on respective opposite sides becomes parallel to the width direction of the long stretched film.
