abstract There is described a computer-implemented method for evaluating an animal product. The method comprises receiving measurement data of the animal product and selecting a generic mathematical model built from a plurality of corresponding animal products from a sample population of a given species or sub-species representing a variability of at least one aspect of a whole population. The generic mathematical model is parameterized by deformation using the measurement data of the animal product to generate a customized mathematical model of the animal product, and the animal product is evaluated based on the customized mathematical model.
