An inkjet medium ( 170 ) includes a substrate ( 172 ) and a coating layer ( 174 ) comprising heptahydrate epsomite deposited on a first side of the substrate, the coating layer ( 174 ) having a substantially uniform distribution of heptahydrate epsomite throughout its volume.
