abstract | This invention is related to methods and system for planting and selection. In particular, seeds from transformed plants or transformed explants are evenly dispenses on a pre-determined area using the methods and systems provided. The methods and systems disclosed use a combination of an air-powered or gas-assisted dispensing system to evenly dispense seeds or explants in a high throughput manner. In some embodiments, a 5-16 folds greater density than previous methods can be achieved with the systems and methods disclosed. In some embodiments, the air-powered systems disclosed can be modified from commercially available vacuum pen apparatus. |
