The present disclosure relates generally to optical media precursors and/or encapsulants, the optical media and encapsulants configurable for use in lighting devices. Specifically, the optical media and/or encapsulant material comprises at least one silsesquioxane moiety and at least one transition metal and/or lanthanide metal. Methods of reducing degradation of the optical media and/or encapsulant from heat and/or optical flux exposure using same are disclosed. Methods of increasing refractive index of an optical media and/or encapsulant using silsesquioxane and transition metal and/or lanthanide metal are disclosed. |
