The present invention relates to the use of a compound of general formula: wherein X is a CiO-24 carbon chain with ānā unsaturations wherein ānā is an integer from zero to 3 for the preparation of a cosmetic composition and a pharmaceutical composition to increase the skin permeation and retention of active ingredients. The present invention is suitable for cosmetic and pharmaceutical products the activity of which is enhanced with increased permeation and retention of active ingredients in the skin as a treatment for cellulite and fat accumulation, acne treatment, skin whitening amongst others. |
