The photoelectric conversion layer includes a lower electrode having a side surface insulated with an insulating film, a photoelectric conversion film on the lower electrode, and an upper electrode. The upper electrode and the lower electrode sandwich the photoelectric conversion film. An upper surface of the lower electrode is lower than an upper surface of the insulating film.
