abstract Imageable multilayer films are provided which include at least a core layer comprising a pigment or other colorant, a clear sealant layer, and an image-side tie layer intermediate the core layer and the sealant layer, where the tie layer comprises a cavitating agent. The sealant layer may include a first polymer component having a heat of fusion of less than 75 J/g and a second polymer component. The multilayer film may have a seal strength greater than about 200 g/2.54 cm for a seal formed on a crimp sealer at a temperature of at least 93.3° C. The multilayer film may be biaxially oriented, an image may be effected on the film without the use of inks, and the film may be useful in packaging applications.
