abstract Provided is a film of which the slow axis in plane does not comply with TD direction nor MD direction of the film and which is excellent in adequacy of pasting with other components. The film is a long film comprising at least a first molecule expressing positive intrinsic birefringence and a second molecule expressing negative intrinsic birefringence, having a slow axis in plane in a direction which is neither parallel nor orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the long film, and the direction of the slow axis in plane being neither parallel nor orthogonal to the individual directions of alignment of the first and second molecules.
