In addition, CaSi y -based powder for manufacturing transition metal silicide-Si composite powder and a method of manufacturing the CaSi y -based powder are provided, the CaSi y -based powder having a Si/Ca ratio (w) of 2.0≦w≦20.0 and containing at least a Ca-silicide phase.
