abstract The invention provides for a needle-free or needle-less intradermal injection device that is capable of delivering an agent of interest to only the intradermal space. The intradermal device can deliver lower volumes of an agent than commonly used with present devices. In one aspect of the invention, the intradermal device is useful for delivering one or more agents to the intradermal space for eliciting immune responses particular to the dermal layer. In other aspects of the invention, the intradermal device is useful for delivering one or more agents to the intradermal space for treating, delaying development of delaying the progression of preventing, and/or ameliorating symptoms of various diseases, disease states, and conditions.
