abstract The present invention at directed to systems and methods for monitoring a conveyor having a plurality of rollers spaced along the conveyer for supporting a conveyer belt. The system includes a plurality of roller monitors and a remote monitor. The roller monitors are located at the rollers, each of the roller monitors having sensors for measuring physical parameters of the rollers and generating measurement data indicative of the current values of the physical parameters, a roller processor connected to the sensors, the roller processor operable to receive the measurement data from the sensors, a roller data storage device connected to the roller processor operable to store the measurement data, a roller communication device connected to the roller processor operable to transmit the measurement data to a remote monitor. The remote monitor is operable to receive the measurement data to generate maintenance information for each of the rollers based on the measurement data.
