abstract Methods and structures for removing a bone fragment from a body of a patent. A method can include advancing a distal portion of an orthopedic extraction device into a bone fragment disposed in a bone mass in the body of the patient, and actuating one or more deployable members of the distal portion of the device positioned in the bone fragment so as to engage the bone fragment with the device. With engagement between the device and bone fragment, a force or torque to the device so as to remove the bone fragment from the bone mass of the patient.
