abstract |
A growing unit includes a tub onto which may be received a lid that receives a plurality of plant cuttings. The plant cuttings are received such that the roots extend into a cavity defined by the tub. A pump unit and production manifold distributes nutrient solution as a mist into the tub cavity, thereby feeding the plant cuttings. The tub unit has an external fan module that forces air into the tub cavity. A recess in the outer surface of the tub extends underneath the tub. The recess directs air from the fan module to the base of the tub where a well receives the pump. Air circulating around the well removes heat produced by the pump from the growing unit and helps maintain a desired temperature within the unit. |
