abstract |
A device 6 for separating ions according to differences in their ion mobility as a function of electric field strength is disclosed. The device 6 comprises an upper electrode 7 a , a lower electrode 7 b and a plurality of intermediate electrodes 8 . An asymmetric voltage waveform is applied to the upper electrode 7 a and a DC compensating voltage is applied to the lower electrode 7 b. |
