abstract Provided herein are methods of preparing crystalline mupirocin calcium dihydrate comprising combining solid mupirocin, solid calcium carbonate, and water in an amount sufficient to form a heterogeneous mixture and precipitate crystalline mupirocin calcium dihydrate from the mixture. In some embodiments, the methods produce nanocrystalline mupirocin calcium dihydrate, suitable for use in pharmaceutical formulations.
