abstract | Provided is a gel particle measuring apparatus for detecting a gel particle production starting point with high sensitivity in the measurement of a target substance in a sample by a gelation reaction. The gel particle measuring apparatus includes a sample cell ( 1 ) that accommodates a sample (S) and a solution containing a reagent (R), stirring means ( 2 ) for stirring a mixed solution (W) including the sample (S) and the solution containing the reagent (R) in the sample cell ( 1 ), a coherent light source ( 3 ) that irradiates the mixed solution (W) with coherent light (B) in the sample cell ( 1 ), transmitted light detecting means ( 4 ) that is provided at a position outside the sample cell ( 1 ) and on the opposite side of the coherent light source ( 3 ) and is used for detecting transmitted light through the mixed solution (W) in the sample cell ( 1 ), transmitted light fluctuation detecting means ( 5 ) for detecting a fluctuation component of the transmitted light based on the detection output of the transmitted light detecting means ( 4 ), and gel particle production determining means ( 6 ) for determining at least the production state of gel particles, which leads to timing of phase transition of the mixed solution (W) from a sol phase to a gel phase based on the results of measurement of the transmitted light fluctuation detecting means ( 5 ). |
