abstract | The present invention provides a method for producing a vinyl resin in which, in suspension polymerization of a vinyl compound using a polymerization tank equipped with a reflux condenser, uniform vinyl polymer particles are obtained and an excellent defoaming property is achieved against dry foam that occurs at middle to later stages of the polymerization. The present invention provides a method for producing a vinyl resin including the step of in suspension polymerization of a vinyl compound using a polymerization tank equipped with a reflux condenser in the presence of a dispersion stabilizer for suspension polymerization, adding, at the time when the polymerization conversion is 10% or more, 0.001 to 5 parts by weight of a vinyl alcohol polymer (A) that has, in its side chain, an unsaturated double bond, an aromatic group optionally having a carboxyl group, a saturated aliphatic group having a carboxyl group, or a saturated aliphatic group having at least 11 carbon atoms, with respect to 100 parts by weight of the vinyl compound. |
