A low dose rate brachytherapy seed having activity in the range between 0.5 and 10 millicurie, preferably less than 3 millicurie, comprising thulium-170 placed within a casing and at least one layer of a radiation emission modifying metal, said layer being provided either internally within the casing or on the outer surface thereof. The radiation emission modifying metal is preferably gold. |
