titleOfInvention | Triarylmethane Dyes |
abstract | Disclosed are triarylmethane dyes of formula (1) D 1 -(Z 1 J) r -Y 1 —S-A, wherein A is hydrogen; a radical of formula (1 b ) *—S—Y 2 -(Z 2 )-D 2 ; or a radical of formula (1 c ) *—S—Y 3 ; Y 1 and Y 2 independently from each other are unsubstituted or substituted, straight-chain or branched, interrupted or uninterrupted C 1 -C 10 alkylene; C 5 -C 10 cycloalkylene; C 5 -C 10 arylene; or —C 5 -C 10 arylene-(C 1 -C 10 alkylene); Y 3 is an unsubstituted or substituted, straight-chain or branched, interrupted or uninterrupted C 1 C 10 alkyl; C 5 -C 10 cycloalkyl; C 5 -C 10 aryl; or —C 5 -C 10 aryl-(C 1 -C 10 alkyl); Z 1 and Z 2 independently from each other are *—(CH 2 ) p —C(O)—**; *—(CH 2 CH 2 —O)—**; *—(CH 2 ) p —C(O)O—**; *—(CH 2 ) p —OCO—**; —(CH 2 ) p —N(R 1 )—**; —(CH 2 ) p —CON(R 1 )—**; —(CH 2 ) p —(R 1 )NC(O)—**; -0-; —S—; —S(O)—; —S(O) 2 —; or a cationic biradical of a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic or heteroaromatic compound of the formula (1 a ); (1 b ); (1 c ); (1 d ); or (1 e ); wherein the asterix * indicates the linkage to D 1 and/or D 2 ; the asterix ** indicates the linkage to Y 1 and/or Y 2 ; W 1 is N or a radical of CR 5 ; R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 and R 5 independently from each other are hydrogen; C 1 -C 14 alkyl; C 2 -C 14 alkenyl; C 5 -C 10 aryl; C 5 -C 10 aryl-(C 1 -C 10 alkyl); or —C 1 -C 10 alkyl(C 5 -C 10 aryl); D 1 and D 2 independently from each other are hydrogen; or the residue of an organic dye selected from the radical of formula (1 f ), wherein B 1 and B 2 , independently from each other are C 6 -C 10 aryl; or a 5-7-membered heterocyclic compound, which may be substituted by C 1 -C 12 alkyl, C 1 C 12 alkoxy, phenyl, hydroxy, halogen, sulfonic acid, carboxylate, or by the radical —NR 6 R 7 or —OR 6 ; B 3 is C 6 -C 10 arylene, or a bivalent radical of a 5-7-membered heterocyclic compound, which may be substituted by C 1 -C 12 alkyl, C 1 -C 12 alkoxy, phenyl, hydroxy, halogen, sulfonic acid, carboxylate, or by the radical —NR 6 R 7 or —OR 6 ; R 6 and R 7 independently from each other are hydrogen; or C 1 -C 12 alkyl, which may be substituted by hydroxy or C 6 -C 10 aryl; or R 6 and R 7 together with the linking nitrogen atom form a 5 to 7 membered heterocyclic ring; or R 6 and R 7 together with the linking nitrogen atom form a piperidine ring of formula (1 b )* 1H **. wherein the asterix(*) is directed to Z 1 or Z 2 respectively; and the asterix(**) is directed to the linking nitrogen atom; wherein one of D 1 and D 2 is not hydrogen; An is an anion; p is a number from O to 5; r is O or 1; and s is a number from 1 to 5. The compounds are useful for the dyeing of organic materials, such as keratin fibers, preferably human hair. |
