abstract | A method for treating or preventing osteoporosis or a medical condition associated with a reduced or loss of bone mineral density and its related complications, in a mammalian subject is accomplished by intravenously administering to the mammalian subject, a therapeutically effective amount of a sterile aqueous liposomal suspension of lipoprotein small unilamellar vesicles (SUVs) comprising predominantly phospholipids. When the sterile aqueous liposomal suspension is administered to the subject, an increase of bone mineral density is observed over the time of observation. |
