abstract The invention relates to a device for the transcutaneous electrical stimulation of motor nerves and/or sensory nerves, having an electrode assembly which can be attached to the human body, for example, in the area of the back muscles and/or abdominal muscles, and a stimulation device capable of being operated to apply an electric current to the electrode assembly, with there being at least one motion sensor assembly, operable to detect body movements, associated with the stimulation device and with the stimulation device for the application of the electric current being capable of being operated as a function of the motion signals issued by the motion sensor assembly.
