An oxygen delivery system includes first and second sieve beds configured to selectively receive a supply fluid and separate a substantially oxygen-rich fluid therefrom. A patient conduit having a patient outlet is in alternate selective fluid communication with the sieve beds. The system includes a breath-detection device in fluid communication with the patient conduit, configured to calculate a rate of breathing and to trigger, in response to a breath detection, an output of a predetermined volume of the substantially oxygen-rich fluid alternately from a respective one of the sieve beds. The system also includes a device configured to measure the output flow rate at predetermined intervals. The output, having a target flow rate and a flow rate, occurs during a respective dynamically adjusted patient oxygen delivery phase, which is dependent upon the target flow rate, the output flow rate, and/or the breathing rate. |
