abstract A nonaqueous electrolyte battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode contains a positive electrode active material represented by the formula Li x Co 1-y M y O 2 . The negative electrode contains a lithium-titanium composite oxide having a spinel structure. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains a γ-butyrolactone-containing nonaqueous solvent, 0.01 to 0.5% by weight of a first lithium salt being at least one of lithium salts represented by the following chemical formula (1) or (2), and 1 to 2.5 M/L of a second lithium salt being at least one selected from the group consisting of LiBF 4 and LiPF 6 .
