abstract A paper roll having a non-slip surface on the end(s) of the roll, particularly large paper rolls such as those from a paper making processes. A header, having a non-slip coating on one side and an adhesive coating on the other side is applied to end(s) of the rolled paper. Microencapsulated materials are one suitable class of non-slip materials. The non-slip surface on the header improves stability of the roll, when stood on end, during transport, such as in cargo trucks.
