abstract A organic light-emitting device includes a substrate including at least a base material, at least one organic light-emitting element which includes (a) a pair of electrodes provided on the substrate and an organic compound layer disposed between the pair of electrodes, and (b) provides a light-emitting area, an inorganic sealing layer provided on the organic light-emitting element and the surface of the substrate, and an adhesion layer which is provided between the substrate and the inorganic sealing layer and only on the periphery of the light-emitting area for closely contacting the surface of the substrate and the inorganic sealing layer, and inhibits moisture from intruding at an edge of the inorganic sealing layer.
