An organic electroluminescent (EL) device of the present invention, comprising a pair of electrodes and at least an organic compound layer comprising a layer or a plural layer including a light emitting layer interposed between the pair of electrodes, wherein the organic light emitting layer (1) contains at least a compound selected from the silacyclopentadiene derivatives having specific structure and at least a compound selected from the borane derivatives having specific structure, and at least a compound selected from the compounds containing amine, or the organic light emitting layer (2) contains at least a compound selected from the silacyclopentadiene derivatives having specific structure, and at least a compound selected from the compounds containing amine. Thereby, the organic EL device has excellent heat resistance and a long lifetime, and exhibits high current efficiency, and also emits a color in the range of from blue to red. |
