The two-phase film materials typically comprise a first phase, comprising a crystalline film of supramolecules and a second phase, comprising a polymer film. The method of fabricating two-phase film materials comprise the steps of preparing a lyotropic liquid crystal of supramolecules comprising molecules of organic compound comprising at least one polar group; depositing a layer of the lyotropic liquid crystal; applying an external orienting action to the LLC layer; and treating the LCC layer with a binding agent.
