abstract The present invention is an ophthalmological treatment process utilizing a low energy (“low power”, “low level”) laser applied through the sclera of the eye to treat various disease conditions of the eye, including but not limited to, blindness. This process is used to create the optimum environment for healing by providing energy to the ocular tissues causing these ocular tissues, in particular the retina, to have improved function regarding, for example, light sensitivity and transmission.
