abstract A surface coat for a composite that can be used as counter tops, shower surrounds, bath tubs, sinks and various other commercial usages. The surface coat comprises a densified resin, such densified resin being present in a concentration of between about 81.5 and about 85.2 percent by weight. Methyl methacrylate is present in a concentration of between about 12.5 and about 15.1 percent by weight. There is an air release and wetting agent also present, such air release and wetting agent being present in a concentration of between about 0.75 and about 1.25 percent by weight. A mold release agent is present in a concentration of between about 0.15 and about 0.25 percent by weight and fumed silica is present in the formulation in a concentration of between about 1.4 and about 1.9 percent by weight.
