abstract An optical component of the present invention is a microlens array formed on a transparent substrate made of glass and having multiple microlenses made mainly of glass. The adjacent microlenses are coupled by the same glass material as the microlenses. The expansion coefficient of the lenses is substantially equal to the expansion coefficient of the transparent substrate. The thickness δ at the boundary between the adjacent microlenses is 0.1 μm≦δ≦200 μm.
