A golf ball comprising a core comprising a center and an outer core layer surrounding the center, the center having a compression of less than about 65 and a first specific gravity; the outer core layer having a hardness of at least 80 Shore C and a second specific gravity greater than or equal to the first; and a cover disposed about the outer core layer; wherein at least one of the center or the outer core layer is formed from a fully-neutralized thermoplastic copolymer of ethylene and an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid, the acid being 100% neutralized by a salt of an organic acid, a cation source, or a suitable base of the organic acid; and wherein the center has a hardness less than a hardness of the outer core layer. |
