abstract The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of cyclic carbonates comprising contacting an epoxide with CO 2 in the presence of a titanosilicate catalyst and a base co-catalyst at a temperature above 313 K and a pressure above 2 bar for a period of 0.5 to 8 hrs and isolating the formed cyclic carbonate from the reaction mixture by conventional methods.
