abstract The present invention provides a decorating system that applies images directly to the surface of an item. This decorating can occur with no contact between a printing engine and the item and/or with a single pass of the printing engine proximal to the item. The decoration of items can further include computer control of the printing system to allow for creating of a decoration image at a first location, and transfer of that image to a second location for application of that image directly to the surface of an item to be decorated.
