abstract The present invention provides an organic electroluminescent display device and a method of producing the device. The organic electroluminescent display device includes a substrate and multiple active areas formed on the substrate, where each active area has a first electrode, a second electrode, and an emission portion interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode and having an emission layer. In addition, the device includes a layer of a material derived from an organosilane-based material represented by Formula (1) formed on at least a part of a passive area between active areas. n n nwhere R 1 is a fluorine atom or a C 1-20 alkyl group substituted by one or more fluorine atoms, at least one of R 2 , R 3 and R 4 is a hydrolysable group, and the remainders are independently a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, C 1-10 alkyl group or C 1-10 alkoxy group.
