abstract | A new route has been found leading to the formation of pentafluorosulfuranyl arylenes. In its broadest aspect the process comprises: n neffecting dehydrohalogenation or dehydrogenation of a pentafluorosulfuranyl compound represented by either of the structures: n n wherein R 1 is H, C 1-10 alkyl, C 1-10 alkoxy, C 1-10 thionyl. C1-10 alkyl ether, list more, R 2 , R 4 and R 5 are H and R 3 is H repeated R 1 n nto form the pentafluorosufuranyl arylene represented by the structures: n n wherein R 1 -R 5 are as represented in compound represented by the structures A and B. |
