abstract |
Insertion of intracoronary shunts during off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) surgery can induce a severe endothelial dysfunction. The present invention relates to a novel intracoronary shunt design and the use of this device during surgery as a means to prevent this undesirable effect. Termed the “Monoshunt”, this intracoronary shunt advantageously avoids distal endothelial denudation and allows distal coronary perfusion. |
